Sonoma County

Sonoma County’s approximately 1,768 square miles are located in northern California, about 80 miles north of San Francisco. It is the northwest county of the nine counties that make up the San Francisco Bay Area. 

Sonoma county is best known by its rich and vibrant winery scene. Sonoma county is the southwestern county in the California winery region, and also the region’s greatest producer of wine. The history of Sonoma county’s productive agriculture dates back to the 1920s and is still a leading producer of a variety of crops including hops, apples, and grapes.

The productive agricultural scene as well as the county’s mild temperatures and beautiful landscape of rolling hills and abundant green space, help to attract millions of tourists each year. Small, quaint towns full of art, shopping, and restaurants, breathtaking parks of redwoods, rivers and ocean make Sonoma County an easy place to visit or call home.
